Terms and conditions

By booking a grooming appointment with Marley and Mane, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Appointments & Punctuality
  • Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session or rescheduling, and a fee may apply.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the appointment may be cancelled and treated as a no-show (see cancellation policy).

2. Cancellations & No-Shows
  • Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Repeat no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.

3. Health & Medical Conditions
  • Please inform me of any known health issues, allergies, injuries, or sensitivities your dog has before the grooming session.

  • I reserve the right to refuse or stop grooming if your dog shows signs of illness, parasites (e.g., fleas, ticks), or distress that could pose a risk to themselves, others, or me.

  • In the event of a medical emergency during grooming, I will attempt to contact you immediately. If you are unreachable, I reserve the right to seek veterinary assistance, and any costs incurred will be your responsibility.

4. Behavioural Issues & Aggression
  • You must inform me of any behavioral concerns or history of aggression, biting, or anxiety.

  • For safety reasons, I may use a muzzle if necessary and reserve the right to stop the session if your dog becomes unmanageable or aggressive.

  • In such cases, a partial or full grooming fee may still be charged.

5. Grooming Results & Coat Condition
  • Dogs with matting may require shaving or de-matting, which can change the final look of the groom. This will always be discussed beforehand.

  • I am not liable for any effects on the dog’s skin or coat caused by pre-existing conditions, poor coat maintenance, or mat removal.

  • Regular grooming and brushing at home between appointments is encouraged to maintain coat health.

6. Liability
  • While all care is taken, grooming is performed at the owner’s risk. I am not liable for pre-existing conditions, allergic reactions, accidental injury, or sudden illness during or after grooming.

  • You agree to be financially responsible for any damage your dog may cause while on the premises.

7. Photos & Social Media
  • I may take before and after photos of your dog for use on social media or marketing materials. Please let me know if you prefer not to have your pet’s photo used.

8. Collection
  • Dogs must be collected promptly at the agreed-upon time. Late collection (15+ minutes) may incur a holding fee unless previously agreed.

9. Payment
  • Payment is due at the time of service via cash, bank transfer, or other agreed methods.

  • Prices are based on coat condition, size, and behaviour. If additional work is required (e.g., de-matting), the cost may be adjusted accordingly and discussed in advance.

10. Right to Refuse Service
  • I reserve the right to refuse service at any time, especially in cases where the dog’s health, behavior, or safety may be at risk.
